Week 7 #17

I can remember growing up without computers, calculators, cell phones, video games, etc. I am just so amazed of all the advances the electronic world has made in just the last 20 years. I just cannot image what the next 20 years will bring. I think these items have greatly enriched most of our lives. But for a few people these "electronic toys" have become an obsession. Not to fear. There is help for everyone out there--free help to learn how to use these new "electronic toys" and free help for those who cannot kick their obsession of their "electronic toys".

I had no idea what a wiki was til today. I added my blog and a favorite movie. I think a wiki would be a good tool to use with our ongoing programs and one time programs. Having the people who attend post comments about the program. Maybe it would encourge more people to attend our programs.

I checked out Del.icio.us. I created an account. I seems like it will be a very useful tool for me.

I really like the calander they send with the due dates. I know that we get get reminders from horizon. But it is nice to have a backup.

I did not find any icons on my favorite sites to subscribe to the feeds. I did like syndic8 of all the ones that I tried.

Working with the Bloglines RSS feeds was very easy. I had no idea what RSS feeds were til I did this weeks assignment. So far the assignments have helped me with my computer skills and that is a good thing.
